On 1 January 2010, the Australian Government will be increasing the Registrant contribution for supplies under the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS).
This increase is in line with the Government’s policy on medicines subsidised under the PBS, which are indexed annually to account for changes in the costs of goods.
The increases do not apply to syringes and needles.
The NDSS is an initiative of the Australian Government administered by Diabetes Australia.
The Scheme provides blood and urine testing strips, syringes, needles and insulin pump consumables at subsidised prices to people with diabetes who register for its benefits.
The NDSS aims to enhance the capacity of people with diabetes to understand and manage their life with diabetes and to ensure they have timely, reliable and affordable access to the supplies and services they require to effectively self-manage their condition.
The tables below show the current registrant contributions and the prices as at 1st January 2010.
