Guardian Connect App upgrade

In response to Apple’s pending release of the new iOS 11 platform on 19 September 2017, Medtronic has upgraded the Guardian Connect app. The Guardian Connect app v3.0.1 is now available for download from the App Store.

Medtronic is advising that in order for people to maintain continued service through their Guardian Connect app, they will need to download the updated Guardian Connect app v3.0.1 from the App Store BEFORE upgrading to the new IOS 11 platform.

There will be an upgrade notification in the App Store today for people who have already downloaded the Guardian Connect app.

By making sure that you download the upgraded version of the app before updating to the latest version of iOS you will ensure that your service is not interrupted.

If you have any questions, please visit or contact the Medtronic Global Helpline on 1800 777 808.

The Guardian Connect is one of the continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems recently added to the NDSS. The Australian Government is providing access to fully subsidised CGM systems through the NDSS for children and young people aged under 21 years, living with type 1 diabetes, who meet specific criteria.

CGM systems work by monitoring the user’s glucose levels and providing updates throughout the day to let them know if and when their glucose levels are out of the optimal range.

If you believe that you, or your child, may be eligible for CGM you can find more information about the eligibility criteria here.
