Medtronic Australasia Pty Ltd has issued a medical device safety alert for users of MiniMed 600 series and MiniMed 700 series insulin pumps.

Users of these insulin pumps who have received a new or replacement pump in the last 6 months need to be aware that the pump was NOT pre-programmed with basal rates or other verified settings (i.e., bolus wizard settings, sensor settings, etc.), which must be set up and saved on the pump prior to use.

Medtronic Australasia Pty Ltd has provided additional information about this Medical Device Recall on their website.
