Product Defection Correction – Dexcom G6 Receiver

Published:

Dexcom has advised that some customers using the G6 Receiver may experience issues where alerts and alarms may be delayed or missed. This may then potentially lead to a missed detection or treatment of low or high blood glucose levels.

This issue only relates to G6 Receivers with a specific part number labelled MT24078-2 – which is printed on the back of the receiver – with the issue not affecting the mobile application.

Dexcom recommends affected users to use the G6 app as the primary display device to receive glucose readings and alerts. They also recommend shutting down the receiver and turning it back on to potentially correct the issue, while an update to the receiver is worked on.

Additional details regarding description of the problem, mitigations against harm, and recommended customer actions are provided in the TGA Approved Notification linked here.
