Diabetes Australia would like to advise all people to be alert to fake emails, calls and advertisements impersonating or claiming to be endorsed by the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS). Diabetes Australia has been made aware of a number of scams, impersonations and other fraudulent activities aimed at using the NDSS name and brand to sell questionable products and services, and to trick people into handing over personal information and/or money. If you believe you have received a communication falsely claiming to be from the NDSS, please do not engage, delete the communication and do not circulate further. If you are unsure, please call the NDSS Helpline on 1800 637 700 or email [email protected] to confirm the communication is valid and from the NDSS. Keep up to date with the latest scam attempts by following Government websites such as the Australian Cyber Security Centre, and utilise the free resources they have available to help spot scams and limit your exposure to them. Scams to be aware of Calls claiming to be from the NDSS We are aware of fraudulent calls falsely claiming to be from the NDSS and requesting money. The NDSS will never call you to ask for money.
