Published: 14 August, 2026 From 1 October 2026, access to the FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor will be expanded to all eligible NDSS registrants. To access FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus, eligible individuals must consult an authorised diabetes health professional to discuss whether the device is suitable for their individual needs, and update their CGM access. Authorised diabetes health professionals may include: Credentialled diabetes educator (CDE) Endocrinologist/Diabetologist Nurse Practitioner (with diabetes specialty) Physician (FRACP with diabetes specialty) Paediatrician. Important information: Sensor lifespan: Each FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor lasts 15 days before needing replacement. Ordering limits: A maximum of 3 months’ worth of sensors (6 sensors) can be ordered per transaction. As with all CGM products, annual product limits apply. Fault reporting: Any issues with the device should be reported according to the manufacturer’s guidelines. The NDSS Code for FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensors is 996. For individuals who have a co-payment for CGM sensors, the cost will be $17.90 per FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor. All CGM products have annual access limits which have been developed in line with the manufacturer’s recommended usage guide.
