Urgent Medical Device Recall: MiniMed™ Remote Controller MMT-503

TGA Ref: RC-2021-RN-02160-1
ARTG: 128416

Medtronic Australasia Pty Ltd has issued a medical device recall for users of MiniMed™ Remote Controller MMT-503 with a Medtronic MiniMed™ 508 insulin pump or the MiniMed™ Paradigm™ family of insulin pumps.

Medtronic first communicated this as a Safety Alert (TGA Reference RC-2018-RN-01123-1) to some users in August 2018. This included instructions on how to disable the remote bolus feature, when not in use, to protect the security of your insulin pump when using an optional remote controller which may be susceptible to a cybersecurity risk.

To assist Medtronic in this recall action, please review this letter from Medtronic which contains further information, and sign and return the Acknowledgement Form on the final page.

You can contact the Medtronic Global Helpline on 1800 777 808 if you have any questions about this safety notice.
