Changes to the NDSS from 1 August 2021

FreeStyle Libre 2

From 1 August 2021, FreeStyle Libre 2 products will be available to access through the NDSS.

People who meet the eligibility criteria can access FreeStyle Libre 2 through the NDSS.

Note: Existing users of FreeStyle Libre can continue to use FreeStyle Libre or choose to change to FreeStyle Libre 2—both products will be available.

Starter kits

No starter kit is required for FreeStyle Libre 2. However, people should consult their health professional about how to best use FreeStyle Libre 2 as part of their diabetes management.

Eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria to access continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and flash glucose monitoring (Flash GM) products through the NDSS have not changed.

Access forms

From 1 August 2021, updated Continuous and Flash Glucose Monitoring Access forms will be available on the NDSS website.

Authorised certifiers

There are no changes to the health professionals authorised to certify Continuous and Flash Glucose Monitoring Access Forms. Only health professionals listed on the Continuous and Flash Glucose Monitoring Access forms can certify access.
