Published: 17 November, 2025 From 1 December 2025, FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) sensors will be subsidised through the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) for eligible registrants using the mylife YpsoPump insulin pump. This product is only available to mylife YpsoPump insulin pump users. The FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor is authorised to work with the mylife YpsoPump with CamAPS FX and will transmit glucose data directly to the insulin pump manufacturer’s device. Who is eligible? To be eligible for FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus, individuals must: Be registered with the NDSS Use the mylife YpsoPump insulin pump Meet the existing NDSS CGM eligibility criteria There are no changes to the broader CGM eligibility criteria. This listing is specific to users of the mylife YpsoPump insulin pump. How to access FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus through the NDSS To access FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus, eligible individuals must: Consult an authorised diabetes health professional (such as an endocrinologist, credentialled diabetes educator, diabetes nurse practitioner, physician, or paediatrician) to update their CGM access. GPs and practice nurses are not authorised to certify CGM access forms. Health professionals are encouraged to use the NDSS Health Professional Portal to process CGM access updates quickly. People are encouraged to update their details and create a My NDSS account to receive notifications when their CGM access has been updated. Once access is updated, FreeStyle Libre Plus 3 can be ordered through NDSS Access Points (usually a community pharmacy) from 1 December. Transitioning to FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus If you are planning to switch to FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus, we recommend ensuring you have enough of your current CGM supplies to last until at least 15 December 2025. This is to account for any potential product availability delays during the initial launch period. Important Information: Sensor lifespan: Each FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor lasts 15 days before needing replacement. Ordering limits: A maximum of 3 months’ worth of sensors (6 sensors) can be ordered per transaction. As with all CGM products, annual product limits apply. Fault reporting: Any issues with the device should be reported according to manufacturer guidelines. The NDSS Code for FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensors is 996. For individuals who have a co-pay for CGM sensors, it will be $17.35 per FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor. All CGM products have annual access limits which have been developed from the manufacturers recommended usage guide. Compatibility: FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensors are not compatible with any FreeStyle Libre readers, apps, or data platforms currently available in Australia. The mylife YpsoPump insulin pump is currently the only compatible method for viewing FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor glucose readings.
