Help shape the future of diabetes health information

Published:

We’re inviting people living with diabetes, and those who support them, to join an online focus group and help us improve how the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) shares diabetes health information.

The NDSS is committed to making sure that people living with diabetes can easily find the information and support they need. To do that well, we need to hear from you.

That’s why we’re running an online focus group in mid-April. This is your chance to tell us what’s working, what isn’t, and how we can do better.

What’s involved

Participation is simple and takes up a small amount of your time:

  • Spend around 15 minutes exploring your favourite diabetes websites before the session
  • Take part in a 105-minute online group discussion in mid-April

Sessions are held online, so you can join from anywhere.

Why your voice matters

People access diabetes information in all kinds of ways, including online, through health professionals, via social media, and through community groups. But not all of these work equally well for everyone.

Your lived experience tells us things that data alone can’t. When people living with diabetes share what works (and what doesn’t), we can design better services for the whole diabetes community.

This research will directly shape how the NDSS delivers information, making it clearer, more accessible, and in the formats people prefer.

Who we’re looking for

We’re seeking participants from across the diabetes community, specifically:

  • People who live with type 1 diabetes
  • People who live with type 2 diabetes
  • Parents or guardians of a child with diabetes

We’re also looking for people at specific stages of their diabetes journey:

  • Those who have been living with diabetes for less than 1 year, or
  • Those who have been living with diabetes for between 3 and 8 years

These different perspectives help us understand how information needs change over time, from diagnosis through to longer-term management.

How to get involved

Registering your interest takes just 4 minutes:

  • Complete our short online survey to express your interest
  • If you meet the eligibility criteria, we’ll be in touch with an invitation and full session details
