How do I register?

Step 1: Book an appointment

We’ve made registration easy, so you can focus on living well, not paperwork.

Just book an appointment with your health professional and ask them to register you with the NDSS. That’s it, they’ll handle the rest.

Health professionals who can register you include:

  • Aboriginal Health Practitioners
  • Credentialled Diabetes Educators
  • Endocrinologists
  • General Practitioners (GPs)
  • Nurse Practitioners
  • Practice Nurses

If you don’t currently have a regular health professional, you can use the NDSS health professional locator, shown below, to find one nearby. Telehealth services are also available, and in some cases, your local pharmacist may be able to assist.

Step 2: Access support while you wait

While waiting for your physical NDSS registration card, you can still access NDSS products, services, and support. Simply present one of the following at any NDSS Access Point:

  • Your certified registration form
  • Your Medicare card
  • Your NDSS registration number (if available)

If you experience any issues accessing subsidised products, contact the NDSS Helpline on 1800 637 700 for assistance.

Am I eligible?

  • Have another eligible condition that requires regular monitoring of blood glucose levels, and
  • Hold (or are eligible to hold) a Medicare card or a Department of Veterans’ Affairs card.
